Parents' vote: majority in Biemenhorst in favor of community elementary school
Absolute majority (63.3 percent) of parents vote for conversion
After the parents of elementary school students at Biemenhorst Elementary School voted last week on the conversion from a Catholic confessional school to a community elementary school, the result is now available. According to the results, an absolute majority (63.3 percent) voted in favor of the conversion to a community elementary school.
335 parents had been asked last week after a corresponding parents' initiative whether the Catholic confessional school in Biemenhorst should be converted into a community elementary school.
For the conversion of the school more than 50 per cent (168 votes) were necessary. 231 votes had been cast, 212 people voted for the conversion, 15 people against. Four votes cast were invalid.
The further steps in the conversion process are now the responsibility of the school authorities, the school supervisory board of the district of Borken and the district government in Münster. Corresponding parent votes are also planned for early May for the Kreuzschule Mussum and the Liebfrauen elementary school association.
