Pure summer feeling in the bay

In recent years, the Aasee Festival has established itself as a real summer highlight for Bocholt. At the same time, visitor numbers and the intensity of use have risen significantly. In particular, the sharp increase in the volume of rubbish, as well as safety concerns arising from the large number of handcarts, cool bags, trolleys, chairs, tables and other bulky items brought along by visitors, made it necessary to revise the event's concept.

• A rucksack or bag containing a maximum of 1 litre of drinks (NO glass!) per person, snacks and picnic blankets are permitted
• For children, baby food and any special dietary requirements due to medical conditions may be brought along
  
  
• Glass bottles, hard plastic containers and baskets are not permitted
• Handcarts, tables, chairs, barbecues and other bulky items are prohibited
• Catering platters or food from delivery services may not be brought onto the premises
• It is forbidden to carry weapons of any kind, or any objects that could be used as weapons or as throwing, striking or stabbing implements

To ensure that the event can continue to be held in a safe, clean and family-friendly manner in future, the festival site will be fenced off for the first time this year. Access will be via several central entrances, where bag checks will be carried out.

The aim of these measures is to significantly reduce the amount of litter, ensure the cleanliness of the lawns, flowerbeds and lake, keep paths clear and guarantee the safety of all guests.

That's right! The Aasee Festival in Bocholt is a "free and open-air" festival that everyone can enjoy at no extra cost.

Of course, we mustn't forget that an event like this involves high organisational and programme costs, and it's only fair to the local caterers to support them whilst you're there.

For anyone who is able to cycle here, this is strongly recommended, as it is not possible to park a car in the immediate vicinity of the festival site.

On Saturday 15 August, from 1.15 pm to 2.00 pm, a Pilates class for adults and teenagers will be held. In this class, Pilates instructor Isabelle Mühlenweg combines classic Pilates exercises with modern and slightly more dynamic movement sequences. The focus is on strengthening the core, promoting good posture and improving flexibility, balance and body awareness. The exercises are clearly explained and demonstrated at various levels of difficulty, so that both beginners and more experienced participants can take part.

* You can train barefoot or in non-slip socks

Important note: Please inform the instructor before the class begins of any existing ailments, injuries, pregnancy or other health restrictions so that the exercises can be adapted if necessary.

On Sunday 16 August, from 2.00 pm, the young visitors to the Aasee Festival can look forward to balloon figures by Happu Krenz. Happu will amaze his audience as they watch the figures take shape.

Happu takes the children's wishes to heart and brings them to life with balloons.
