The Aa Cycle Route is part of the 460 km long "flusslandschaft" route.
The river plays the main role here. The landscape is determined by the watercourse and the life on the banks.

Numerous border experiences can be discovered on a cycle tour along the rivers Bocholter-Aa, Berkel, Slinge and Ijssel. The watercourses together form the tributaries to the Ijssel and the Ijsselmeer and are thus ideal prerequisites for a cross-border network of river cycle routes.

At the sources and estuaries, it is possible to "change" from one river to the other. You can also return to the starting point of your cycle tour by following one of the various circular routes. The information boards at the transfer points provide further interesting details.

The four different routes (varying from 65 km to 170 km) can be linked together via transfer points to form longer circular cycle tours. For example, the varied, approximately 260 km long cycle tour Berkel - IJssel/Oude IJssel -Bocholter Aa - Berkel.
The route logo of the respective river always leads safely to the destination.
