Music School Bocholt-Isselburg
Welcome to the world of music: children, young people and adults are taught at the music school. No matter whether you are a beginner or an advanced musician - the music school has interesting offers for every group.
Subjects at the music school
The Bocholt Isselburg Music School offers "Early Musical Education" for children of kindergarten age (from 4 years). With movement and dance, singing, speaking and elementary instrumental playing, the musicality of pre-school children is encouraged, and the children's creativity, self-confidence and personality are strengthened.
The "parent-child group" is a musical programme for children aged 2 to 3.5 years accompanied by a parent or adult. Speech verses, kneeling riders, finger plays and songs are introduced in the lessons. They also serve as a stimulus for musical activities at home. Singing, dancing, making music and playing along with the accompanying adult encourages the children to try out their own voices, sounds and movements. Dances and circle games encourage contact with other children.
The "Basic Musical Education" programme is aimed at children aged 6 and over who want to continue their general musical education after early education or who want to start without any previous knowledge. Using singing, rhythmicals, body percussion, Orff instruments (xylophone, metallophone, small percussion instruments, etc.) and movement, we create songs and stories with the children and familiarise them with the beginnings of musical notation. This develops their motor skills and a good sense of rhythm.
Interested parents and children can take part in free taster sessions to get to know the programme without obligation.
The "Instrument Carousel" is aimed at children of primary school age who may have already attended early musical education and want to learn an instrument but can't decide which one they like best.
The children learn to play the cello, double bass, horn and clarinet in a small group with the music school's specialist teachers. The groups of a maximum of four children switch to the next instrument approximately every four to five weeks. The children can even take the respective instruments home to practise and try them out.
No previous knowledge is required.

Rehearsals: Tuesdays from 4 to 5.30 pm in the auditorium of Bocholt Comprehensive School (Rheinstraße 4)
Our current play is "Anouk and her journey to the sea" by Uwe Heynitz.
This beautiful, modern and visually stunning fairy tale for children, young people and adults who are young at heart tells the story of Anouk, a child who must find the sea in order to recover and save reality. It offers an almost endless wealth of strong images, striking characters, stunningly beautiful songs and plenty of food for thought and questioning.
Mobile phone mania, data octopuses and bullying form the backdrop to the story of the orphan Anouk, whose bones turn to glass and who must find the long-lost sea in order to recover and save the crumbling earth.
The musical will be performed on 23, 24 and 25 May 2025 in the Euregiohalle in Bocholt. Admission costs 9 euros with free seating and tickets are on sale now.
