Mayor and Board of Directors
Mayor Christian Mangen has been in charge of Bocholt's city administration as First Citizen of the City of Bocholt since the 2025 local elections.
An open dialogue with citizens and employees of the city administration is particularly important to Christian Mangen.
The city council has also elected three honorary deputies to the mayor from among its members.
Björn Volmering
First City Councillor Björn Volmering is the Mayor's general deputy and, as head of the executive division, is directly responsible for the following departments and staff units:
- Public Order
- Law and procurement
- Culture and education
- Social affairs
- Social planning, neighbourhood development and integration
- Youth and family
- School and sport
- Fire service
- Demography
Dave Welling
Bocholt's Head of Building is also responsible for the following topics:
- Urban planning and building regulations
- Property and land management
- Building management
- Technical Coordination Centre / Kubaai
- Climate Protection Unit
- Mobility and Environment
- Waste Disposal and Service Organisation (ESB)
Jennifer Menk
The city of Bocholt's finances are the focus of city treasurer Jennifer Menk. The councillor has been a member of the city administration board since 2021. She is responsible for the following departments:
- Organisation and Human Resources
- Digital and IT
- Finance and compliance
