New in Bocholt
Welcome to Bocholt - the city for everyone who appreciates a family-friendly environment with a high recreational value.
With around 73,000 inhabitants, Bocholt is the largest city in western Münsterland. Its proximity to the Netherlands and the Lower Rhine is also reflected in the mentality of its residents: open, sociable and self-confident. This is also reflected in the strong communities and the large number of clubs and societies in which Bocholt residents are active. This means that even newcomers have a good chance of quickly making new contacts and friendships.
Bocholt residents benefit from the good transport connections in all directions, and not only in their leisure activities. The medium-sized companies based in the city can also cultivate their international relationships in the best possible way. They characterise the economic structure in the city and district. Large companies from the electrical, mechanical engineering and textile industries have their headquarters here. The Westphalian University of Applied Sciences, Bocholt campus, is a centre of attraction for numerous students, who can enrol here in international management or the rarer subject of bionics.
The city centre reflects Bocholt's more than 800-year history - for example at the central market square with the historic town hall built at the beginning of the 17th century and St. George's Church. Bocholt is the right place for anyone who appreciates a metropolitan infrastructure, but at the same time doesn't want to miss out on the cosy flair of a compact medium-sized town with a high recreational value and family-friendly surroundings.
