The town of Bocholt remains at the top of the leaderboard in this year's STADTRADELN campaign and is once again leading the category for towns with between 50,000 and 99,999 inhabitants, having currently clocked up 721,130 kilometres. A total of 4,067 active cyclists in 209 teams took to their bikes, representing a 34 per cent increase in participants compared with last year.

Up to 50 per cent grant: Bocholt calls on businesses to boost biodiversity

The Bocholt funding programme "Business and Biodiversity" supports local businesses in making their premises more environmentally friendly. A recent example in the industrial estate shows how a former gravel area can be transformed into an insect-friendly perennial garden. The town of Bocholt covers up to 50 per cent of the eligible costs of the redevelopment.

At the general meeting of the North Rhine-Westphalia State Integration Council held in Cologne last Saturday, 11 July 2026, Abdulkadir Kis from Bocholt was elected as a member of the Executive Committee. With 46 votes, Kis came fifth in the election for non-executive board members. Out of a total of 27 candidates, nine were elected as non-executive board members.

Road closure at the Böggeringstraße roundabout

Civil engineering works by the Bocholt Waste Management and Services Company (ESB) // Road closure expected to last five working days from 20 July.

Due to sewer works being carried out by the Bocholt Waste Management and Services Company (ESB), the Böggeringstraße/Lowicker Straße roundabout will be partially closed from 20 July. A diversion will be signposted at the site.
