Plans for Sandbachpark Heutingsweg ("Duck Pond") and at the Textile Museum are presented

As part of the "Water-Robust Cities" project, Bochol residents contributed their ideas last year for the redesign of the Sandbachpark on Heutingsweg ("Ententeich") and the Sandbach at the height of the Textile Museum. On the basis of these suggestions, the plans were further advanced. They will be presented publicly in a digital conference on Thursday, June 2. Citizens are invited to attend at www.gestalten.bocholt.de. The start is from 5:30 p.m.

A feasibility study has been prepared for the redesign of Sandbachpark on Heutingsweg. Dr. Koenzen from the Koenzen planning office will present the results of the study at the online event.

Dr. Requena from the Fischer Teamplan office and Dr. Koenzen will continue to present the current planning status of the development of the Sandbach at the Textile Museum. In the area of the textile museum the water retention of the Sandbach is to be improved and at the same time the experienceability of the watercourse is to be increased.

All interested parties can participate via the access data, which will be made available in advance on the website www.gestalten.bocholt.de. The results of the first participation can also be viewed there. The results of the first round of participation and other urban development projects can also be viewed there. The ESB is looking forward to the participation of as many citizens as possible and the active exchange on the presented plans.

The event is sponsored by the INTERREG funding project "Water Robust Cities"(www.deutschland-nederland.eu/project/wasserrobuste-stadte-2/ ). Here, Bocholt cooperates with the city of Münster, the Dutch cities of Zutphen and Hengelo as well as with the Waterschap Rijn&IJssel and the Waterschap Vechtstromen. The aim is to combat the effects of extreme precipitation, heat, drought and storms and to actively exchange information and network with those responsible on both sides of the border. Renaturation of water bodies in urban areas plays a central role. The aim is also to redesign access to water and make it possible to experience water bodies.
