7 and 8 May // Non-slip surface for greater safety
The bridge on the south bank of Bocholter Aasee will be closed for a short time on Tuesday and Wednesday, 7 and 8 May. A non-slip quartz sandstone surface will be installed at both access points to the bridge to improve the safety of cyclists and pedestrians.
Until Tuesday, 7 May, interested parties can apply for the tender for a new architectural office for Bocholt's town hall and cultural centre. The tender is now online.
Applicants have until 7 May to submit their documents to the city of Bocholt. The basis for the tender is the previous planning. Work phases 1 - 4 have already been completed, and planning permission and listed building consent have also been granted, as stated in the tender text. The complete invitation to tender can be found on the NRW tender portal and on the tendering page .
The construction site equipment at Berliner Platz will be temporarily dismantled for cost reasons. This concerns the construction crane, various construction containers and part of the construction fence. This was announced by Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff as part of a status report on the town hall renovation in the public part of the council meeting.
The first bridge renovations in Bocholt will be carried out by mid-March. Work has now begun and further measures are planned over the course of the spring. The refurbishment concept affects a total of ten bridge structures, at a cost of around 348,000 euros.
Reason: Use of high-pressure water jet during renovation work in the underground car park
Until the end of February 2024, there may be increased construction site noise on weekdays in Bocholt city centre at Europaplatz (bus station). This is due to the renovation of the underground car park under Europaplatz. A high-pressure water jet is being used for the work currently being carried out.
City of Bocholt draws attention to remaining funds from the Biodiversity Programme // Up to 400 euros per plot // Submit application now
Bocholt citizens can now still apply for funding for sustainable purposes, such as greening facades or planting gravel areas. Remaining funds from the programme to strengthen local biodiversity are still available. The city administration points this out.
New "natural oasis" in Bocholt's city centre for recreation and play // Start of construction 6 November
A small city garden will soon be created on Liebfrauenplatz in Bocholt - with a pavilion, various seating options, a water feature and playground equipment. The 350 square metre "oasis of nature", which corresponds to about one and a half tennis courts, will invite passers-by and children to linger and play, thus strengthening the quality of stay in Bocholt's city centre.
Citizen participation on the Sandbachpark at Heutingsweg started // Presentation of first interim results
What could the Sandbach Park at the Bocholt "Ententeich" (at Heutingsweg) look like in the future? After an initial digital public participation, the commissioned landscape architecture firm wants to present a first draft. For this purpose, there will be a walk-through of the park next Friday.
50 flats for students and young adults // Motto: "Simple. Better. Live."
There will soon be new rental flats for young adults and students in Bocholt's Kubaai. Bocholt-based Thomas Duvenbeck Invest GmbH is planning a new building next to the Lernwerk, which will reconcile the history of the textile mill with requirements for modern living.
