Fancy Europe? EU Youth Ambassadors wanted!
EU Youth Ambassadors wanted at secondary schools in NRW!
There's a lot of talk about the EU - but who really knows what it's all about? Often it's about complicated processes and topics that at first glance don't have much to do with young people's everyday lives. This can lead to young people not paying much attention to the EU. Yet these decisions affect us all in our daily lives.
The EU Youth Ambassadors@school are a project of the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia, for which young people are sought who are particularly interested in working with pupils at Real- and Hauptschulen. The project is supervised and coordinated by edu:impact, the agency for political education.
What do EU Youth Ambassadors do?
With the EU Youth Ambassadors, the government of North Rhine-Westphalia wants to bring the EU closer to groups that otherwise have less contact with Europe and work out this connection together with pupils. In a series of workshops at secondary schools in North Rhine-Westphalia, the young people will be able to form an opinion and develop new perspectives.
Who can apply?
We are looking for young people between the ages of 18 and 25 who currently live in NRW. Whether you are doing your A-levels, studying politics or teaching, doing an apprenticeship or something else is of secondary importance. Above all, you should enjoy sharing your knowledge with other young people. It is important to us that you can convey the topics to the students in an exciting and creative way and that you can engage in open discussions at eye level. You should also have a basic knowledge of the EU.
As an EU Youth Ambassador, you should be available for at least six workshops at a school in NRW in the next school year. If you have even more time, that would be great - but it doesn't have to be. You will receive a fee of 150 € for each workshop. The workshops can take place anywhere in North Rhine-Westphalia, but we will do our best to assign you a location as close as possible.
How can I apply?
We want to get to know you and your personal style. That's why we don't just look at your CV and experience, but also at how you explain a topic. That's why we also ask you to submit a video or a story in which you explain one of the following three questions in up to 2 minutes to someone who has never had anything to do with the EU before:
- What is the most surprising point of contact with the EU in your everyday life?
- Who actually makes decisions in the EU?
- Why can't one country alone stop global warming? How can we counter global warming?
Please upload your answer video together with a short CV, including your experiences, to the website https://edu-impact.de/eu-jugendbotschafter-bewerbung by 4 July 2023 at the latest.
