27th Bocholt Wine Festival from 21-23 July

A fixed entry in the diary of many Bocholt residents and their guests is the Bocholt Wine Festival, which takes place from 21 to 23 July. For the 27th time, seven winegrowers from the Palatinate come to Bocholt and transform St. George's Square into a small wine village during these three days. In a wine-loving atmosphere with a colourful entertainment programme, Palatinate wines and other specialities can be enjoyed and tasted. The traditional Palatinate tarte flambée will not be missing either.

The programme

On Friday, 21 July, the wine festival will be opened at 5 p.m. by the mayor Thomas Kerkhoff, the wine queen Laura I. and Ludger Dieckhues from the Bocholt city marketing. The Sporker Musikanten will provide the atmosphere that evening.

On Saturday, 22 July, the wine festival will be open from 12 noon. McKing will provide the party atmosphere from 5 pm.

On Sunday, 23 July, the wine festival will also open its doors at 12 noon. On this last day of the wine festival, the Jannis Sicker Duo will provide the background music from 2.30 pm.

Election of the Bocholt Wine Queen on Sunday

A highlight of the Bocholt Wine Festival is the crowning of the Wine Queen. Entry forms are available at all wine stands during the wine festival until late in the evening on Saturday, 22 July. "We hope for a lively participation - the prize is definitely something for wine lovers: a weekend in the Palatinate, a case of wine donated by the Palatinate winegrowers and a Bocholt town ring donated by jeweller Hermeier," says city marketing employee Gisela Bollmann, who organises the wine festival.

The new Bocholt Wine Queen 2023 will be presented and crowned on Sunday, 23 July at 6 p.m. on St. George's Square.
