"Open Monument Day" with many offers

Sunday, 10 September // 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. // Handwerksmuseum Bocholt and Church St. Michael Suderwick participate

On Sunday, 10 September, the "Open Monument Day" will take place for the 30th time. The Handicrafts Museum will be taking part with hands-on activities from 10 am to 5 pm. There will also be activities for children and adults around St. Michael's Church in Suderwick and in Dinxperlo. Registration is not necessary.

Two anniversaries in the same year: the Bocholt Craft Museum is 30 years old and the "Open Monument Day" takes place for the 30th time in Germany.

In the Handicrafts Museum you can not only visit the building, but also see and try out old handicraft techniques. How do you make a rope? How does a blacksmith work and how was printing done in the past? These are topics that children and adults can explore from 10 am to 5 pm.

St. Michael's Church in Suderwick is also taking part in the Monument Day: a service will be held here in the morning and the "Duofietse" project will be presented in the afternoon. This is a bicycle that was purchased by committed citizens with the help of sponsors and can be borrowed by people with limited mobility.

In Dinxperlo, the following monuments are open: The Dorpskerk and the Borderland Museum on the market square and the smallest church in the Netherlands, Kerkje De Rietstap. Furthermore, the Stichting Historisch Dinxperlo offers a cycling tour that can be undertaken at any time on your own initiative. Along the route, rare Dutch domestic animal breeds can be seen and explained on information boards.

"It is nice to see how wonderfully the German-Dutch cooperation works again", Sonja Wießmeier from the EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt is pleased to say, "also on the Dutch side our "Open Monument Day" is present in the media."
