Online event: EU funding for companies, scientific institutions and municipalities

5 September // 10:00 a.m. // Registration now open online

Smart cities, circular economy and innovative procurement are more than just buzzwords and hypes. It is about the mutual influence of societal challenges, far-sighted public decisions and innovative technologies and solutions. The event informs interested parties about EU funding opportunities and project calls as well as best practice examples.

On the subject

The European Union has developed various funding programmes and instruments in which cities, scientific institutions or companies from North Rhine-Westphalia can participate.

These programmes usually work through thematic calls for projects, which specify the funding priorities in terms of content, the application conditions (deadlines, funding quotas, number of applicants) as well as available budgets.

Who is the event particularly interesting for?

It is interesting for decision-makers from cities and municipalities as well as from companies and scientific institutions that see themselves as innovative solution providers for Smart City or Circular Economy, among others. In addition, experiences from an EU-funded best practice project will be passed on.

Date and schedule

The event will take place online on 05.09.2023 from 10:00 to 11:30. The following agenda is planned:

  • Overall moderation and short presentation of the EUROPE DIRECT network: Nils Ole Haar, City of Essen
  • Short presentation of the Enterprise Europe Network
  • Selected European funding programmes (access, basic rules, procedures)
  • Open and expected project calls with application deadlines 2023 / 2024
  • Exchange of experience and knowledge: Presentation of a funded project
