Educational trip to Brussels

29-30 November 2023 // European Academy North Rhine-Westphalia and EUROPE DIRECT Office Bocholt invite // Registration deadline 15 October

From 29 to 30 November, interested citizens of Bocholt can take part in an educational trip to Brussels and visit both European institutions and the Christmas market in the Belgian capital. The European Academy of North Rhine-Westphalia offers a varied programme in cooperation with the EUROPE DIRECT office in Bocholt. The registration deadline is 15 October.

Programme

The journey starts on Wednesday, 29 November, at 7 am from Bocholt. Check-in and a lunch break will be followed by an introduction to the topic by the European Academy NRW. "Europe's problems, Europe's solutions?" is the title of the lecture at the European Commission. During the subsequent guided tour from the European Quarter to the city centre, the tour group will learn about political and historical backgrounds. After dinner in the city centre, there will be an opportunity to visit the Christmas market.

The highlight of the second day is the visit to the European Parliament. There, the MEP from Münsterland, Dr Markus Pieper, receives the group of visitors. As a Member of the European Parliament and Parliamentary Secretary of the EPP Group, he will give an insight into his work and answer questions. Another item on the programme is a visit to the "House of European History", where an extensive exhibition can be explored.

The return journey to Bocholt will follow at 15:30.
