Dare to take one last look into space

Exhibition "Abenteuer Weltall begreifbar machen" in the Stadtmuseum Bocholt ends // Last guided tours on Sunday, April 3, 2022 // Closing thereafter until further notice

On Sunday, April 3, 2022, the Stadtmuseum Bocholt and the JUNGE UNI invite you to the last guided tours at the end of the special exhibition "Making the Adventure of Space Understandable". The tours start at 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. respectively. A special highlight on this day: Manfred Liedtke, the curator of the exhibition from Galileo Park, will lead a tour of the exhibition on two dates. After that, the City Museum will close until further notice.

The Stadtmuseum asks that visitors register in advance by phone at 02871/184579 or at kontakt(at)stadtmuseum-bocholt(dot)de, as the tours are limited to 20 people each.

"The last few months have shown us that there are many space fans in Bocholt and the surrounding area," says museum director Lisa Merschformann happily. More than 1,600 visitors have already enthusiastically visited the exhibition since it opened. Jennifer Engels, head of JUNGEN UNI in Bocholt, also draws a positive conclusion: "Our aim was to appeal to children and young people and to get them excited about the fascination of outer space through technical and multimedia means. With the help of the hands-on stations, even complex issues such as the phases of the moon were presented in a clear and understandable way. It was always great to see how initial reticence turned into absolute enthusiasm."

Anyone who has always wanted to visit the museum at Osterstraße 66 should hurry, because the general opening for visitors at the Bocholt City Museum will also end on April 3, 2022. The museum must also close for security reasons until further notice. "But our work does not stop there! We are still active and approachable for research questions and collection concerns. We are also already working on a variety of formats to bridge the closure period that is now upon us. We are excited about what the future holds for us and can already hardly wait to open our doors again soon for exciting cultural work," says Director Merschformann.
