Voices of the City: June's cultural walk invites you to join in the conversation

Interactive tour of Bocholt // Great entries and a picnic to round things off // Mayor Christian Mangen announces his participation

On Tuesday, 30 June 2026, the interactive cultural walk "Voices of the City" will take place in Bocholt as part of the "Stadt.Land.Bühne" project. The tour begins at 5.00 pm in front of the Historic Town Hall and combines stories submitted by local residents with artistic performances. Anyone interested is invited to take part in the event and round off the afternoon with a communal picnic.

Architecture Day: LernWerk Bocholt opens its doors

National Architecture Day on 27 and 28 June 2026 // Free viewings and expert-led tours // Photo exhibition in the LernWerk annex "Appendix"

As part of this year's Architecture Day, the LernWerk Bocholt will open its doors to the public on Saturday 27 June and Sunday 28 June 2026. Interested members of the public can visit the striking building on both days from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm. The free programme includes guided tours led by experts and the exhibition "Photographic Positions", specially designed for this occasion, in the modern extension.

Bocholt Culture Days 2026: Five days of cultural enjoyment on the market square

From 26 to 30 August 2026, the market square in front of the historic town hall will once again be transformed into a large open-air stage for the Bocholt Culture Days. Together with its cooperation partners, the City of Bocholt's Department of Culture and Education will present a varied programme for all generations. All events can be attended free of charge.

On Tuesday 30 June, Bocholt will become the stage for a special cultural project. As part of Stadt.Land.Bühne, an interactive cultural walk will be created that will make the voices of the city audible. All Bocholters are invited to actively participate in this event.

Art installation "Poetry Machine" opens at the historic town hall

Cross-border art installation with German-Dutch poetry stays in Bocholt for two months // Poetry from Bocholt and Aalten

This week saw the opening of the interactive poetry machine on Bocholt's market square. The work of art was installed in the form of a cloud on a street lamp next to the historic town hall. German and Dutch poems from the region can be heard at the touch of a button.

Summer painting school in Bocholt: Places still available for young talents

Places for 6 to 7-year-olds in the summer painting school are still available // Course from 27 to 31 July // Online registration still possible

City museum presents Onduli scissors as object of the month

In its "Object of the Month" series, the Bocholt City Museum is currently presenting a pair of historical ondulating scissors. In the late 19th and early 20th century, the tool was used to create waves or curls from strands of hair using heat.

VHS day trips for gardening fans

On Saturday 30 May and Friday 5 June, the VHS is offering two garden trips to selected beautiful gardens in southern Münsterland and the Netherlands respectively. The participation fee is 59 € each. There are still places available on both bus trips.
