City of Bocholt warns of dangers due to storm damage in green spaces

Bocholt's Langenbergpark remains closed

Following the severe storm event on Wednesday, Entsorgungs- und Servicebetrieb Bocholt (ESB) is currently clearing around 150 reported damage sites throughout the city. Five cherry pickers, various large pieces of equipment and support vehicles are being used. The city of Bocholt is urging the public to be particularly careful when walking in tree-lined areas in the coming days.

The areas at the Textile Museum, Dinxperloer Straße and numerous individual locations are particularly affected. Langenbergpark remains closed due to extensive work.

Loose branches, broken crowns and fallen trees are currently being removed in order to restore public safety. The work in the area around the Textile Museum will be completed today, Thursday, so that this area can be used again. In Langenbergpark, on the other hand, there are still considerable dangers due to hanging and damaged branches in the treetops. Despite intensive work, including on Saturdays, the park must remain closed for safety reasons.

The city of Bocholt urges the public to be particularly careful when walking in areas with trees in the coming days. As the damage to the treetops has not yet been fully repaired, people should avoid walking in woodland and park areas if possible.
