Walther von der Vogelweide
Minstrel, new transmission, reading from his songs/poems
Walther von der Vogelweide was the most famous German minnesinger. He lived during the High Middle Ages from around 1170 to 1230.
His poems on the themes of love, politics and faith are often surprisingly topical. Gert Dieter Hohenöcker has translated a selection of them into modern German, so that his statements, his poetry and also his humour come to the fore in the adaptations.
