What is a RepairCafé?
What do you do with a toaster that no longer works? With a woollen jumper with moth holes? Throw it away? Think again!
Come to the RepairCafé and just fix it again!
Repair Cafés are voluntary meetings where participants repair their broken things alone or together with others. At the locations where the RepairCafé takes place, tools and materials are available for all kinds of repairs.
For example, for clothes, furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, toys and much more. Repair experts are also present on site: electricians, tailors, carpenters and bicycle mechanics.
Visitors take defective items from home with them. At the RepairCafé, they get to work together with an expert. You can always learn a lot there. If you don't have anything to repair, you can have a cup of coffee or tea. Or help someone else with the repair. There are various books on the subject of repair and DIY on the reading table - always good as a source of inspiration.
