Longing and wanderlust in German pop songs

Bocholt (har) Werner Steinecke from Kleve will be speaking at the Fontanekreis on Monday, 27 May, on the subject of "Sehnsucht und Fernweh im deutschen Schlager". The lecture begins at 7 p.m. in the rooms of the Protestant parish in Schwartzstraße 4.

"The lecture, which will be illustrated by many musical examples from the 1920s to the present day, explores the question of the extent to which Schlager is part of our cultural heritage and also deals with critical judgements from Theodor W. Adorno to Elfriede Jelinek", announces the Fontanekreis. Steinecke is chairman of the Emmerich Art Association.
