Training for voluntary legal guardians, authorised representatives and interested parties

15 May 2023 between 6:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. // SkF Bocholt, Langenbergstr. 18 // Participation free of charge // Registration required

As part of the training programme "Well trained - Well represented", the Working Group for the Care System offers training sessions for voluntary legal guardians, authorised representatives and interested parties. On 15 May, between 18:30 and 21:00 hrs, there will be a training course on accommodation under care law in the premises of the SkF Bocholt. Registration is now possible under 02871/25 18 220.

Marius Seidel, a staff member of the SkF's guardianship association and himself a legal guardian, will speak on this evening about special features in the context of health care.

Fortunately, the use of legal guardianship by the legal guardian in accordance with § 1906 Para. 1 and 2 of the German Civil Code (BGB) has decreased considerably due to the "Werdenfelser Weg" and the responsible handling and sensible use of measures to reduce restraint.

In very rare cases, however, the situation can change.

What if the facility for the elderly asks to be allowed to use a bed rail on the person concerned ? Or what if placement in a closed facility, such as a geriatric ward, is recommended?

Voluntary legal carers then ask themselves: What do I have to consider? Who will help me? What alternatives are there?

This training explains the legal basis and presents alternatives to avoid and reduce measures such as those mentioned above.

The event is a cooperation event of the working group for the care system (care centre of the city of Bocholt, care associations of the SkF Bocholt and the Arbeiterwohlfahrt Bocholt) in the city of Bocholt and is organised by the care association of the Sozialdienst katholischer Frauen Bocholt e. V. and is free of charge for the participants. Binding registration is required by calling 02871/25 18 220."
