Open day on 24 January at Lernwerk // Instrument testing and advice // Start of taster weeks for elementary courses
The Bocholt-Isselburg Music School is starting the new year with an extensive taster programme. On Saturday, 24 January, interested parties can try out instruments at the open day, while the taster weeks for the elementary music courses begin at the same time. The LernWerk programme is aimed at all age groups, from toddlers to adults.
Under the motto "See - Listen - Try", the music school is opening its doors on Saturday, 24 January from 2 to 6 pm for anyone who would like to learn an instrument. Visitors will have the opportunity not only to see and hear various instruments, but also to try them out for themselves in pre-booked time slots. The spectrum ranges from brass and woodwind instruments, keyboard instruments and guitars to string instruments and percussion. Teachers are available on site for individual consultations. For those who are undecided, an instrument exhibition in the foyer on the first floor offers an overview of the entire training programme.
In addition to the instrumental programme, there is also a focus on singing. Those interested can take part in an open rehearsal of the youth choir "Young Voices" at 2.30 pm and 3.30 pm, attend the open singing at 4 pm or find out more in a workshop on vocal hygiene at 5 pm. The open day will be rounded off with a stage programme from 3:30 to 4 p.m. in the large event hall in the LernWerk, where soloists and ensembles will present their skills.
A free online booking at https://eveeno.com/sehenhoerenausprobieren2026 is required for the instrument taster sessions on the open day.
Free taster sessions for the youngest children
At the same time, the music school is also focussing on the youngest up-and-coming musicians. In view of the new courses starting in April, free taster sessions will be held from 24 January to 21 February. The dates for early musical education are on Saturday, 24 January, at 11 a.m. in the former secondary school in Isselburg and on Monday, 9 February, at 2.30 p.m. and on Saturday, 21 February, at 11.30 a.m. in the Bocholt LernWerk. Anyone interested in basic musical training is invited to the LernWerk on Wednesday, 28 January at 14:45. The taster session for the parent-child group will also take place on Saturday, 24 January, at 12 noon in the LernWerk.
In the parent-child groups, children from the age of two are introduced to music together with a carer through songs and movement games. Early musical education prepares children of kindergarten age for later music lessons, while basic musical training for children from the age of six teaches the first notes and a sense of rhythm.
Prior online registration is required for all programmes. Registrations for the taster sessions of the elementary courses are accepted via https://eveeno.com/schnupperstundenmfe2026. Anyone wishing to register directly for the new school year starting in April can do so via the municipal website at www.bocholt.de/musikschule.
