FW Bocholt: Vehicle fire at a detached house

Bocholt fire brigade (ots) -

The Bocholt fire brigade was called out to a vehicle fire on Schüttensteiner Weg at 16:50. A neighbour saw firelight and flames coming from under the moving car and alerted the driver. The driver of the Mercedes A-Class then parked the vehicle on the property. The driver was able to leave the vehicle unharmed. The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames when the fire brigade arrived. The radiant heat caused further material damage to the detached house. The fire was extinguished using a jet pipe and breathing apparatus. The residential building and the vehicle were then checked with a thermal imaging camera.
The amount of damage is not yet known.
The Bocholt fire brigade was on site with 5 vehicles and 12 firefighters.
