Festive opening of the Bocholt Christmas market with live music

This year, Bocholt's Christmas market will enchant the city centre streets for the 17th time. From 23 November to 20 December , craft and culinary stalls in front of the historic town hall with its illuminated Advent calendar offer a pre-Christmas atmosphere. Every Friday to Sunday, visitors will be accompanied by a varied musical programme on the market square under the arches of the historic town hall.

Thursday, 23.11.23

15.00 - 17.00 DJ Klaus Lensing

A varied programme of alternative Christmas music such as jazz, swing and chill/lounge music.

17.15 - 21.00 Knappenquartett

The miners' quartet originates from the large Auguste Victoria miners' orchestra in Marl. During the Christmas season, it entertains its audience with lively and sensual Christmas brass music in miners' costumes.

Friday, 24.11.23

15.00 - 17.30 Boogie & More

In the duo "Boogie & more", chance encounters merge with a passion for music. Peter Steinbrink (guitar, vocals) and Theo Theissen (piano, cajun, kazoo, blues harp) play atmospheric (classic) jazz, old hits and melodies from the 1950s.

18.00 - 21.00 DJ Klaus Lensing

A varied programme of alternative Christmas music such as jazz, swing and chill/lounge music.

Saturday, 25.11.23

15.00 - 17.00 Fragile Matt

Rousing, traditional Irish and Scottish tunes with polyphonic vocals that spread good humour. Fragile Matt, with David Hutchinson as singer, are a guarantee for expressive music.

18.00 - 21.00 Christmas combo Rythmo

This six-piece music group conjures up a captivating Christmas repertoire with passion and skill. Their melodies are not only atmospheric, but also rousing, and lend a dynamic swing to the festive atmosphere.

On Sunday, 26 November, the Christmas market is closed due to the Sunday of the dead.
