The travelling exhibition has also been a guest at the Düsseldorf state parliament.Travelling exhibition "Climate in Transition" comes to LernWerk

Extreme weather events are also making climate change increasingly noticeable locally. From 17 to 31 March 2026, the exhibition "Climate in Transition" at Lernwerk Bocholt will show how municipalities and individuals can adapt to these changes. The city invites all citizens to find out about future-orientated strategies in the interactive exhibition free of charge.
Climate change is no longer an abstract vision of the future, but is changing daily life on the ground. In order to give this highly topical subject the necessary space, the city of Bocholt is bringing the travelling exhibition "Climate in Transition - How can we adapt to it?" by the North Rhine-Westphalia Foundation for Environment and Development into the foyer of the learning centre at short notice. Visitors can expect a comprehensive insight into the direct effects of climate change. At the centre of the exhibition are concrete solutions that shed light on this complex topic from four different angles.
It starts at the individual level, showing how each and every one of us can make our own everyday lives more resilient to climate change. In addition, the municipal perspective will take centre stage. Here, interested parties can learn from illustrative examples how cities and municipalities are already responding to extreme weather with innovative green spaces or intelligent rainwater management. The concept is rounded off by a look at the political framework conditions and the social dimension. The main question here is how neighbourhoods, regions and political players can work together to meet the challenges of climate change.
"We are pleased to offer all interested citizens and especially school classes, teachers and educational institutions the opportunity to visit and explore this exhibition free of charge", emphasises Sascha Terörde from the City of Bocholt's Climate Protection Department. The exhibition is intended to encourage people to think about climate change and familiarise themselves with concrete, future-oriented adaptation strategies.
The exhibits are freely accessible in the foyer of the learning centre from Monday to Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Fridays from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. Special attention is paid to imparting knowledge to the younger generation. Teachers are cordially invited to plan a visit with their classes - the exhibition can be a valuable addition to lessons on climate change, its consequences and possible courses of action. Specific dates can be arranged with the staff unit by calling 02871 953-3002 or sending an email to klimaschutz(at)bocholt(dot)de.
