What you should bring with you

    You want to know how administrative processes work and find legal contexts interesting. You are proactive and want to be part of a modern city administration.

This is how the training programme works

The 1st year of training covers

  • the organisation and tasks of public administration,
  • conducting customer-orientated discussions
  • the organisation and planning of various work processes and
  • the organisation of the municipal budget.

The 2nd year of training includes

  • the tasks of personnel administration,
  • the organisation of accounting and auditing,
  • the calculation of salaries and remuneration and
  • the calculation of travelling and travel expenses.

The 3rd year of training covers

  • the special features of municipal law,
  • the content of basic social security law,
  • the various areas of commercial law and commercial administration and
  • the formal legal bases and administrative procedures.

Theoretical lessons take place at the Oswald-von-Nell-Breuning vocational college in Coesfeld in block lessons (vocational school).

During the practical phases, you will attend inter-company lessons once a week at the Studieninstitut Westfalen-Lippe.

Possible areas of employment after training

Once you have successfully completed your vocational training, there are a wide range of employment opportunities in the various administrative areas:

  • Citizen service in the finance department
