VHS unveils its programme for the second half of 2026

New programme available from 2 July // Bookings open on 7 July // Updated layout

From now on, residents of Bocholt, Rhede and Isselburg can look forward to the new term programme at the Adult Education Centre (VHS). The programme for the second half of 2026 comprises over 400 courses and events covering a wide variety of areas of life. Enrolment opens on Tuesday, 7 July 2026, and can be done both online and in person.

The Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg Adult Education Centre has published its new programme. From this term onwards, residents will benefit from greater clarity, as the printed programme booklet is now available in a handy DIN A5 format. The programme can also be accessed online via the VHS website at vhs.bocholt.de. Those who prefer the printed version can now pick up a copy from special programme boxes at the adult education centre's locations in the Bocholt LernWerk, in Rhede and Isselburg, as well as at the media centre of the municipal library and at the Bocholter-Borkener Volksblatt.

The registration period for the more than 400 courses begins on Tuesday, 7 July 2026, at 8 am. As well as convenient online booking via the Adult Education Centre's website, those interested can also make use of the in-person service. Advice and registration are available at the administrative office in the LernWerk Bocholt, as well as at the town hall branches in Rhede and Isselburg. For specific enquiries regarding integration and language courses, separate consultation appointments can be easily booked in advance via a QR code or a link on the Adult Education Centre's homepage.

The programme offers a wide range of topics for personal and professional development. The season kicks off on 8 September 2026 with cabaret artist Serhat Dogan and his humorous solo show "Lachkräfte gesucht" to mark the start of the term at the LernWerk. Another highlight will be provided in November by travel journalist Dirk Rohrbach with a multi-vision show about the American West Coast. The Society and Life department focuses on shared experiences, including events to mark World Children's Day, Intercultural Week and the traditional 'Barbecue of Nations'. There are also tailor-made training courses for volunteers, for example on promoting reading or the use of artificial intelligence in voluntary work.

In the health sector, there are over 80 courses to choose from, ranging from scientifically grounded talks on healthy sleep to practical yoga workshops. On the culinary front, the spectrum ranges from international cuisine to a special autumn course centred on traditional fairground dishes. Young families and those working in education will find fresh inspiration for everyday life in the 'Family and Education' section, ranging from cooking ideas for children to qualifications in child protection.

""With the new programme, we aim to offer people in our region precisely the educational and social spaces that will help them progress in their daily lives and careers,"" says VHS Director Isabel Testroet. She is delighted that the measures to modernise the programme are already bearing fruit: ""We have succeeded in attracting the attention of interested parties whilst continuing to welcome many familiar faces to our VHS," says Testroet.
