SKM

Men's group at SKM

For a year now, we have been offering the men's group as a framework in which men can share their worries and joys with other men. We experience time and again that our gender-homogeneous group is very well received and that there is a real sense of togetherness. The group is run on a voluntary basis.

In line with the motto: "A group benefits from diversity", the participants in the men's group are mixed in terms of age, profession, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, handicap, experiences and previous histories. Everyone is welcome here. We meet every 2 weeks.
As well as chatting, it's good for us to do something active together. From a golf taster day at the Moyland International Golf Club to archery with the Rhede field archers or going out for pizza, we don't rule out any ideas. Participation by group members is of course voluntary.

We always start our meeting with a short review round in which everyone briefly tells us what has happened or is on their mind. We draw the topics for the evening from this review round.
The members of the men's group have summarised what they like about the group; here is some of this feedback:

  • the dialogue with like-minded people
  • the informal, honest exchange of ideas. (problem-related or general)
  • Discussions about God and the world
  • honest feedback
  • Fun in discussion and insights into the views of others
  • Familiar community and a sense of togetherness
  • Consideration for sensitive topics
  • Reducing fears and learning how to deal with feelings of shame
  • Lots of laughter and a great atmosphere

Everyone is welcome here! We look forward to welcoming interested people who would like to try it out.

Contact the group via the SKM, tel. 02871 8891 or e-mail: info(at)skm-bocholt(dot)de

Come to the RepairCafé and simply repair it again!

Repair Cafés are voluntary meetings where participants repair their broken items alone or together with others. Tools and materials for all kinds of repairs are available at the RepairCafé locations.
For example, for clothing, furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, toys and much more. There are also repair experts on site: electricians, tailors, carpenters and bicycle mechanics.
Visitors take broken items from home. At the RepairCafé, they get to work together with an expert. You can always learn a lot there. If you don't have anything to repair, grab a cup of coffee or tea. Or help someone else with the repair. There are various books on repair and DIY on the reading table - always a good source of inspiration.
