9th Bocholt Seniors' Fair takes place on 30 August

Saturday, 30 August 2025, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Neutorplatz // Lots on offer for senior citizens

On Saturday, 30 August 2025, the 9th Bocholt Seniors' Fair will take place on Neutorplatz from 10 am to 3 pm. The fair has become a permanent fixture in the event calendar and is aimed at senior citizens, relatives and all interested parties.

This year, around 50 exhibitors will be presenting their offerings on topics such as health, care, living, mobility, volunteering and leisure activities - ten more than at the last fair two years ago. "The great interest shows us how important this platform is for older people and their relatives", says a delighted Christian Tewiele from the City of Bocholt's senior citizens' office.

Numerous well-known players will be taking part, including Bocholt care services, retirement homes, medical supply stores and social organisations. The programme will be supplemented by exciting new participants with innovative projects and services. For the first time, the City of Bocholt's senior citizens' office will also be represented with its own stand. Together with cooperation partners, current projects will be presented and information about counselling work will be provided.

If you would like to volunteer, the Bocholt Volunteer Agency stand will provide information on volunteering opportunities in a wide range of areas. Many organisations and groups will also be on hand to offer personal talks for interested volunteers. The "Mouse Mobil" project, a group of volunteer senior citizens who offer older people support in using smartphones, tablets and digital devices, will also be represented with a stand this year.

Answers to questions about a self-determined and healthy life in old age - from sport to everyday aids - can be found at many information stands at the exhibition centre. The fair will be officially opened at 10 a.m. by Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff. Afterwards, Bocholt singer and guitarist Ralf Rademacher will provide musical entertainment.

Other highlights on the stage include performances by the old theatre group "The Late Bloomers", the accordion group from the Bocholt-Isselburg music school and an informative talk by Christoph Wegener from the Criminal Investigation Department for Prevention and Victim Protection on the subject of "crimes against senior citizens".

A special highlight is the performance by artist Klaus Renzel with his programme "Comedy for senior citizens" - a mixture of clowning, stand-up comedy and music with a nostalgic flair. The "Sporker Musikanten" will provide the atmospheric musical finale in the afternoon, inviting you to sing along and sway with their well-known melodies.

Catering will be provided by the Malteser Hilfsdienst with a small but excellent catering offer. In addition to coffee and cold drinks, the legendary pea soup will once again be available for refreshment. All interested parties are cordially invited to visit the 9th Bocholt Seniors' Fair - admission is free.
