"Brit Pic" in Bocholt: An English-style picnic this coming Sunday
In a few days' time, the town of Bocholt will be celebrating a much-loved tradition as part of the Münsterland Picnic Days. This coming Sunday, 21 June 2026, the popular "Brit Pic" will take place from 5 pm on the kubaai site. The town council would like to remind all residents of this free open-air event, which can be attended without prior registration.
On Sunday evening, the event area on the lawn in front of the LWL Textile Museum on Uhlandstraße will be transformed into a British-style picnic setting. Together with Bocholt Tourist Information, EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt and the German-British Society of Bocholt, the town council invites you to combine the Münsterland way of life with a British twist.
Interested residents and visitors to the town are encouraged to pack their own picnic baskets. To create an authentic atmosphere along the Bocholter Aa, the wearing of colourful hats, elegant dresses or classic picnic attire is welcome. As the event takes place in the open air and the focus is on community spirit, participants are asked to bring their own food and drink. Food and drink based on British recipes are particularly well suited to the occasion.
The Bocholt-based musician Ralf Rademacher will provide the perfect musical accompaniment. His repertoire of Irish folk and well-known British folk songs will accompany the afternoon and evening.
The event is part of the Münsterland Picnic Days, which take place annually around International Picnic Day. Under the regional motto "Me. You. Us. The Münsterland celebrates picnics!", numerous local authorities in the region are promoting a sense of community and enjoyment in the great outdoors. The Münsterland e.V. is the organiser of these regional event days.
