Extensive sewer work: Closure of Manes-Schlatt-Platz from next week

Car park closures from Tuesday // Closures in the south wall and ski jump area from 1 June

Due to extensive sewer work on behalf of Entsorgungs- und Servicebetrieb Bocholt (ESB), there will be traffic obstructions in the city centre area from next Tuesday, 26 May 2026. The streets Südmauer and Schanze as well as Manes-Schlatt-Platz will be particularly affected. The city of Bocholt is organising diversions in coordination with the city marketing department and the city bus service.

Entsorgungs- und Servicebetrieb Bocholt (ESB) is starting extensive work in the area of the southern city centre next week. From Tuesday, 26 May 2026, the preparatory measures for upcoming sewer work on Manes-Schlatt-Platz will begin. For this reason, the car park there will no longer be available to drivers from this date and will be completely closed.

Road closures for moving traffic will follow from Monday, 1 June 2026. The Schanze road and parts of the south wall will have to be closed for the duration of the work. In order to keep traffic flowing as smoothly as possible, traffic coming from Schanze will be diverted via Casinowall. Road users coming from the south wall will be directed via Boesstiege and Königstraße from the city centre area.

Information boards on the surrounding main roads will draw attention to the changed traffic routing at an early stage. The entire traffic planning was closely coordinated in advance with Stadtmarketing Bocholt and Stadtbus Bocholt GmbH in order to minimise the disruption to individual and scheduled traffic. Nevertheless, traffic disruptions during the construction phase are unfortunately unavoidable. The city of Bocholt asks all citizens and visitors to the city centre for their understanding for these necessary infrastructure measures.
