VHS lecture on "Life & Death in Religion and Theology"

On Monday, 27 October 2025 at 18:00, Pastor Rafael van Straelen will give a lecture on the subject of life and death from a religious studies perspective at the invitation of the Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg Adult Education Centre in the LernWerk event hall.

What happens after death? How do religions interpret the end of life - and what do they say about its meaning? In this lecture, Pastor Rafael von Straelen shows how different religions view life, death and the afterlife.

Theological interpretations from Christianity meet religious insights from other faiths such as Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism. What answers do they provide to the big questions of human existence - and what can these perspectives teach us about how we deal with life and death today?

In addition to exciting impulses, there will be plenty of room for discussion and questions. The event is aimed at anyone interested in religion, cultural history and the existential questions of life.
