Author brings suspense and coastal flair to Bocholt liest! // Thursday, 23 October, 19:30, City Library (Foyer)

On Thursday, 23 October 2025, Hendrik Berg will present his latest crime thriller "Kalte Strömung", bringing suspense and coastal flair to Bocholt City Library. Tickets can be purchased in advance via the homepage and at the adult education centre office as well as at the library. A box office will also be set up.

A shocking murder in the idyllic North Sea village of Dagebüll, a trail of devastation and a young woman who unsuspectingly finds herself the target of a murderer with a thirst for revenge - Hendrik Berg is bringing this suspenseful crime thriller package to Bocholt City Library on 23 October 2025. As part of the Bocholt liest! event series, the author will be presenting the latest case of detective Theo Krumme and his partner Pat, in which the duo reach their physical and mental limits. Anyone interested now has the opportunity to meet the author live and embark together on a captivating journey to the North Sea coast.

Exciting cases and North Sea originals

Hendrik Berg, born in Hamburg in 1964, puts a lot of his homeland into his novels. They are not only set on the North Sea coast, but also take in the landscape, secrets and legends of the region. Coupled with a straightforward, clear writing style, plenty of local colour and some North Sea originals, he creates exciting crime novels with a North Sea feel and believable characters.

"Hendrik Berg's crime novels always put a little salt in my nose", enthuses Klaudia Kroesen from the city library. "It's a bit like a holiday trip where you join in the puzzles with the team of investigators and come across a few surprises. This is also the case in the latest volume of the series centred around Theo Krumme and I am particularly looking forward to a North Frisian evening."

Registration at the VHS and the city library

The event will take place on 23 October in the Bocholt City Library at 7:30 pm. Admission begins at 7 pm. The reading is supported by the Verein der Freunde und Förderer der Volkshochschule Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg, Stadtbibliothek and JUNGE UNI in Bocholt e.V. and is organised in cooperation with Thalia Mayersche Buchhandlung. Tickets are available in advance for €9 at www.vhs-bocholt.de, at the VHS office or in the city library and for €10 at the box office.
