The town of Bocholt is mourning the loss of its former deputy mayor and town treasurer, Karsten Groot. Over several decades, he played a key role in shaping the financial and organisational development of the town council and its municipal companies.

Software migration: Citizens' Office will have limited opening hours

Migration scheduled for Tuesday 29 September

Due to a major software upgrade, the Bocholt City Council Citizens' Office will be closed to the public on 29 September. The city council will provide an emergency staff rota for urgent matters that cannot be postponed.

Town Hall Update: Preparations for the extension are almost complete

Bocholt - Renovation and refurbishment work on Bocholt Town Hall on Berliner Platz is progressing rapidly, whilst preparations for the addition of a fourth storey to the building are nearing completion. At the same time, the shell of the future backstage area for the theatre is rising, and technical pre-installation work is underway throughout the building. The structural extension of the council chamber towards Berliner Platz is also already taking on a clearly recognisable shape.

Five apprentices are starting work with Bocholt City Council

First day of the training course on 3 August 2026 // Personal welcome and workshops

Five new apprentices began their training with the City of Bocholt on 1 August 2026. Mayor Christian Mangen, training manager Inka Wallkötter and Hanna Roßmüller welcomed the new trainees in person and wished them every success with their training and a good start to their working lives.
