Furniture bank and support for people in need
The furniture bank in Bocholt is run by the charitable association 'Helfende Hände St. Josef Bocholt e. V. '. This organisation was established in August 2025 following an initiative that had been running for over five years, with the aim of placing the wide-ranging voluntary work on a solid footing. The central guiding principle of its work is the active practice of Christian charity, which is also firmly enshrined in the association's constitution.
The organisation offers practical and unbureaucratic help in various areas of life:
- Furniture and household goods: Support is provided to refugees and people in need by procuring and arranging furniture, among other things.
- Practical everyday help: The team offers assistance with visits to the doctor, support in filling out forms and carrying out minor repairs.
- Social commitment: Through dialogue and joint activities, the team actively tries to counteract the loneliness of fellow citizens.
- International humanitarian aid: medical supplies and clothing have been transported to our Ukrainian twin city of Verkhnodniprovsk since 2023.
