New neighborhood office planned in the cemetery district

Former beverage store at the corner of Breslauer Straße // Citizens to be questioned

Surveys will be held in the neighborhood around the Bocholt cemetery starting today. Citizens can express their wishes, ideas and criticism, as well as their expectations for the new neighborhood office that is to open on the corner of Breslauer Straße (former beverage market). The survey will be conducted this week at prominent public meeting points in the neighborhood. Door-to-door interviews will take place starting July 18.

New neighborhood meeting place

The association "Leben im Alter" (L-i-A) plans to open a new neighborhood meeting place at Breslauer Straße 2, in the former building of the beverage market. In the future, this will offer needs-based services for all residents of the neighborhood as well as an opportunity for exchange and meetings in the neighborhood. The residents should be involved in the design of the neighborhood meeting place and be able to express their own ideas and wishes.

Mobile survey

For this reason, the Research Center for Social Space-Oriented Practice Research and Development at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences is conducting a participation process in the Friedhofsviertel. Currently, from July 4-10, a survey of residents is taking place at various locations in the Friedhofsviertel using mobile socio-spatial analysis and participation methods. For example, people have the opportunity to record their own ideas for leisure activities on a movable wall and to mark various locations on a map of the Friedhofsviertel.

Doorstep survey

From July 18 to August 20, residents are invited to participate in a short interview. Participation is voluntary. Interviewers from Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences and L-i-A will be out and about in the Friedhofsviertel collecting assessments and opinions.

The survey conducted by the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences will be evaluated anonymously according to scientific standards. Neither the city of Bocholt nor the cooperation partners will have access to the data.

Citizens' meeting in October

Against the background of the survey results, a joint workshop will be held in October in a convivial atmosphere to consider how the wishes and ideas expressed can be implemented. All residents are cordially invited to attend on October 21, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Breslauer Strasse 24 (St. Paul Parish).

Involved

This project is financially supported by the "Foundation - Your Home Helps," an initiative of the LEG real estate group. Other participants are the city of Bocholt (neighborhood development), Bocholter Heimbau e.G., Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences and L-i-A.
