City warns of scam

The city of Bocholt is currently warning of a scam.

At present, letters are apparently circulating in Bocholt that bear the logo of the Borken district and are intended to create an official impression. Recipients are asked to pay a fee of 289 euros to an account - as a " contribution to the cleaning fee of the city of Bocholt for the initiative "Clean City Centres"".

These are fake invoices. Recipients should not comply with the request for payment under any circumstances, but should report the matter to the police if necessary.
