Fundraising for Ukraine

After Easter, a second aid transport is due to set off from Bocholt to the Ukrainian city of Verkhniodniprovsk. The city of Bocholt has had a solidarity partnership with this municipality in the middle east of Ukraine since October 2023. The requirements for the next delivery of humanitarian aid supplies have now been determined in the monthly video conferences.

There are two hospitals in Verkhniodniprovsk where - in addition to normal patients - soldiers from the front are also treated.

Medical supplies such as bandages, medical equipment, rollators, walking aids, etc. are urgently needed. Nappies and pads are also needed not only by the hospitals, but also by the local nursing homes.

"We need everything!"

Verkhniodniprovsk Mayor Hennady Lebed said in the last video conference: "We need all the relief supplies and thank the citizens for their extraordinary willingness to help". From the first aid delivery from Bocholt, which arrived in his city on 6 January 2024, everything has been distributed.

The sick and those in need of care were particularly pleased with the help, said Mayor Lebed. The city of Bocholt is not only looking for bandages and small medical devices, but also nappies and pads as well as medical protective clothing. Medication will not be accepted.

Donation collection on 13 and 20 April 2024

The city of Bocholt is being supported in its efforts by Leo Engenhorst from Bocholt with the help of the Bocholt-based organisation "Helfende Hände". In addition to medical supplies, technical supplies are also being collected. You can find out exactly what is needed on this page.

Citizens, organisations and companies who would like to donate materials can do so on two Saturdays, 13 and 20 April 2024, from 12 noon to 2 pm, at Industriestraße / (next to IBENA) in Bocholt. Representatives of the organisation "Helfende Hände", the volunteer agency and the European representative Petra Taubach will be happy to accept the donations.
