Architecture Day
LernWerk Bocholt is part of this year's Day of Architecture and is opening its doors to all interested citizens on 27 and 28 June 2026. Visitors will have the opportunity to view the striking building on both days from 10.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. and take part in expert tours.

The programme is complemented by a themed exhibition of design works in the modern extension to the building.
The city of Bocholt is delighted with the LernWerk's successful application for this important nationwide day of action, which makes architecture accessible and tangible for a broad public. The building, which represents a successful symbiosis of historical industrial structure and contemporary conversion, will be the centre of attention this weekend.
A particular focus of the programme is on the specialist guided tours, which will be conducted directly by the architect responsible for the project, Manuel Heywinkel from acms-Architekten in Wuppertal. The tours will take place on Saturday and Sunday at 11.00 am, 1.00 pm and 3.00 pm. The meeting point for all participants is the foyer in the central entrance area of the LernWerk. During the guided tours, guests will gain exclusive insights into the planning phase, the structural realisation and the special architectural features that make the LernWerk a flagship project in Bocholt's urban development.
In addition to the tour of the premises, an exhibition will be presented in the so-called Appendix, the extension to the building. On display will be photographic and creative works that take an artistic look at the location and its transformation. This additional item on the programme underlines the role of the LernWerk as a place of encounter and cultural education.
The city of Bocholt would like to point out that no prior registration is required to visit and participate in the guided tours. Admission to all events organised as part of the Day of Architecture is free of charge for citizens.
