New Year's reception is marked by the 800th anniversary of the town

On Sunday, January 16, 2022, this year's New Year's reception of the city of Bocholt will take place. This time, the event is all about the 800th anniversary of the city. The Bishop of Münster, Dr. Felix Genn, and NRW Minister President Hendrik Wüst are expected to be guests of honor and speakers. The event begins at 11 a.m. at the LWL textile plant in Bocholt.

Around 100 invited guests from business, church, culture, sports, clubs, associations, administration and society will take part in the event in the Drosselsaal of the textile mill. The event will be held in compliance with applicable corona protection measures.

The program will be hosted by the well-known radio presenter Steffi Neu. After the New Year speech of mayor Thomas Kerkhoff Prime Minister Wüst and bishop Genn will hold short speeches. This will be followed by a round table discussion on future issues in Bocholt. Andreas Evertz (part economy), Edlira Harapi (culture / migration), soccer player Celine Preuß (sports) and Gerd Wiesmann (society) will participate in the talk.

Before the official part begins in the Drosselsaal, the guests of honor, Bishop Dr. Felix Genn and NRW Minster President Hendrik Wüst, will sign the "Golden Book" of the city of Bocholt.
