City cycling: Bocholt lands in second place

The winners of the city cycling campaign

Stadtbaurat Daniel Zöhler (hintere Reihe mittig, helles Jackett) nahm bei der Stadtradeln-Preisverleihung für Bocholt die Glückwünsche für den zweiten Platz entgegen.

In this year's nationwide Stadtradel campaign, the city of Bocholt came in second place. In the category of medium-sized cities, in which 133 cities and districts with up to 100,000 inhabitants took part, only Rheine achieved more kilometers. A total of 2600 municipalities took part across Germany.

In Bocholt, the chain was walked between May 1 and May 21 for the campaign: A total of just under 1900 Bocholt residents took part and cycled more than 472,600 kilometers during the campaign period - a record for Bocholt. On the podium, the city of Bocholt is thus in second place behind Rheine, which achieved a proud 633,900 kilometers. Third place goes to Lippstadt with around 463,200 kilometers.

We are, of course, very pleased that we were able to prevail against so many cities - and congratulate the city of Rheine on the well-deserved victory.
