Traffic light system for sports grounds: New map available online
Colour traffic light shows the current status of the sports fields
The city of Bocholt is now providing a new digital information service. Citizens and clubs can call up the current utilisation status of the city's sports grounds on the city's website. Traffic light labelling shows at a glance whether a pitch is available, restricted or closed.
With the new online service, the city of Bocholt offers a daily updated overview of the usability of local sports facilities. Reasons for closures can include weather conditions or pitch maintenance work.
The display is based on an easy-to-understand traffic light system: green means unrestricted use, yellow indicates limited availability and red signals a complete closure of the pitch.
On the interactive map, the sports fields can be filtered according to the associated sports clubs. It is also possible to select different map types. The application is optimised for use on mobile devices so that information can be accessed quickly at any time, even when on the move.
"With the new digital sports field traffic light, we are creating more transparency and planning security for sports clubs and active players", says Bocholt's First City Councillor Björn Volmering. The new service is now available online.
