On Sunday, 2 November 2025, Light Sunday will take place in Bocholt city centre from 1-6 pm.

Stroll, shop, marvel: Archibald the owl and over 20 other illuminated 3D figures await numerous visitors in the city centre on Light Sunday. As dusk falls, two enchanting light creatures on stilts provide magical moments.
Highlights on this day include a high-calibre fire show at 4 pm and an impressive light show at 5.30 pm. Be enchanted by fantastic flame, spark, light and pyrotechnic effects in front of the illuminated historic town hall.
Shops open
The shops invite you to stroll and browse between 1pm and 6pm.
Free parking
Parking is free on this day. A free bus service will be provided by StadtBus Bocholt.
Organisation and support
The event is organised by Stadtmarketing Bocholt on behalf of the Interessen- und Standortgemeinschaft (ISG) Altstadt Bocholt and the advertising associations of Neutorplatz and Shopping Arkaden, with the friendly support of Bocholter Energie- und Wasserversorgung.
