Neighbourhood Festival in the Friedhofsviertel

After the opening of the neighbourhood office on Breslauer Str. 2 in June, a big neighbourhood festival will take place in the Friedhofsviertel next Saturday, 12 August. On Breslauer Straße, Dortmunder Straße and the adjacent green spaces there will be an exciting programme with shows and hands-on activities for young and old - organised by the cooperation partners of the neighbourhood work in the Friedhofsviertel: L-i-A e.V, LEG, Bocholter Heimbau, the foundation "Dein Zuhause hilft" and the city of Bocholt.

The neighbourhood festival takes place at the request of the residents, says Agnes Wellkamp from the L-i-A association as the organiser of the neighbourhood work in the Friedhofsviertel. Many actors and volunteers in the neighbourhood help to organise the neighbourhood festival.

For young and old, there will be a circus, a bouncy castle, a handicraft stand, a pedelec simulator, face painting, a wheel of fortune, slush ice cream and the L-i-A information mobile. Many of the activities are free of charge, the wheel of fortune and slush ice cost 50 cents each.

In addition to the hands-on activities, there will also be a stage programme with Winni Biermann, the dance group Famatro and a guitarist from the neighbourhood. Food and drink will be provided at low prices, and there will be seating available in the neighbourhood tent.

At the L-i-A Infomobile, visitors can decide on the final name of the new neighbourhood meeting place. The choices are: mittendrin, Bredo (Breslauer Str./Dortmunder Str.) or Quartierstreff Am Brunnen.

On Saturday, 12 August, Breslauer Straße and Dortmunder Straße will be closed to traffic for the event. Residents are asked not to park their cars in this area.
