Dutch border neighbour
As a central town in the Achterhoek, Doetinchem offers a wide range of leisure and shopping facilities. The beautiful nature around Doetinchem invites you to go hiking and cycling and numerous other recreational opportunities.
These lead into the beautiful surroundings and extend along the meadows by the river Oude Ijssel.
Leisure in the city
There are many things to do in the city: These include festivals, events and the annual city festival at the end of the summer. Numerous shops and a well-developed pedestrian zone invite you to go shopping. A "Kopje Coffee" is part of the stroll in the cafés and restaurants in the city centre.
Close to the border
Doetinchem is 35 km from Bocholt and about 20 km from Emmerich, close to the German border. The city has around 56,000 inhabitants and is located in the province of Gelderland.
