European youth camp: participants wanted

Bocholt becomes a meeting place for young people from Europe // Youth camp from 20 to 27 July 2025

The European City of Bocholt receives visitors from the twin cities of Europe. The young people can look forward to a varied programme of encounters with music, workshops and creative hands-on activities. Under the motto: "Music for 80 years of peace and freedom in the 75th anniversary year of the EU".

Participating young people from the twin towns of Rossendale (Great Britain), Akmene (Lithuania), Vlora (Albania), Wuxi (China) and Verkhniodniprovsk (Ukraine) as well as from the Netherlands can expect a week full of activities in Bocholt from 20 to 27 July. First City Councillor Björn Volmering will welcome the participants with a presentation on Bocholt's role as a European city.

Workshops on European identity
In interactive workshops, the young people will discuss the importance of peace today and how to preserve it. As part of a creative activity, they will create their own peace symbols, supported by creative impulses from music, art and international group work. All the results will be presented at LernWerk Bocholt on 26 July.

Excursions and activities
The young people will immerse themselves in the history and diversity of popular music during a visit to the Rock'n'Pop Museum in Gronau. During a guided tour of the historic town hall in Münster, the site of the Peace of Westphalia, the young people will explore the background to European peace policy. The young people will also visit the Borken climbing forest and the Bahia fun and adventure pool. Participants can also look forward to team-building activities, an exciting hand rally through Bocholt and much more.

The youth camp takes place in the Europahaus Bocholt in cooperation with EUROPE DIRECT and other partners. The own contribution for accommodation, meals and the programme is 100 euros, the cross-border youth camp is supported by "ERASMUS + Youth".
