"Europe under the spell of France"

On Friday, March 11, 2022, a public event will be held in Bocholt on the subject of the EU Council Presidency and the French presidential elections under the title "Europe under the spell of France". On April 10, the first round of the French presidential election will take place. At the same time, France holds the EU Presidency in the first half of 2022. What are the priorities during the EU Presidency and what is the situation in our sister city Aurillac?

How does the Russian invasion of Ukraine affect the election campaign, what are other issues and what are the prospects of the candidates?

The invited experts Richard Stock, director of the Centre Européen Robert Schuman in Metz, and Siebo Janssen, political scientist and historian from Bonn, will assess these questions and engage in a discussion with the audience. Cheese and wine will be served in the Europa-Haus. The event will be moderated by Jochen Leyhe.
