After the conversion of buildings in Bocholt, the campaign followed on 14 September in Dinxperlo // funded by Interreg

On Monument Day, artist Garvin Dickhof moved from Bocholt to Dinxperlo with his building blocks. There, with the help of volunteers, he rebuilt the border post at the Grenzlandmuseum and the façade of the museum. In the afternoon, the demolition took place with words of welcome and music.

Last Sunday, on Open Monument Day in the Netherlands, the Borderland Museum celebrated its 40th anniversary. This anniversary was enriched by the cross-border action "DisCover" by the artist Garvin Dickhof.

Saturday in Bocholt

On 12 and 13 September, Garvin Dickhof already transformed the Egg Woman in Osterstraße, the Europe Fountain on the market square and a pillar of the historic town hall in Bocholt. This "DisCover" project aims to bring objects and monuments back into the viewer's field of vision by remodelling them.

Sunday in Dinxperlo

On Sundays, Dickhof clad the border post in front of the Grenzlandmuseum and a façade of the museum. Giant building blocks were needed for the façade. The spectacular demolition took place in the afternoon. In her welcoming address, Deputy Mayor Gudrun Koppers emphasised how important such cross-border activities are in a Europe where forces are pulling at cohesion. Aalten's mayor Stapelkamp emphasised the importance of the Borderland Museum in the region. It is a carrier of Dinxperlo's identity as a border town and borderland.

The music groups Smartlappenkoor and TräckZackLöo join the German-Dutch event with their music. They will sing in German, Dutch and the Dinxperlo dialect.
