Bocholt sets an example against violence against women
Rally on 28 November at 5 pm on Gasthausplatz // Joint campaign by the Soroptimist Club Bocholt, August-Vetter-Berufskolleg, Mariengymnasium and the city of Bocholt
On Friday, 28 November 2025, Bocholt will send a visible signal against violence against women and girls. At 5 pm, the Soroptimist Club Bocholt, students from the August-Vetter-Berufskolleg and the Mariengymnasium as well as the Equal Opportunities Officer of the city of Bocholt invite you to the public rally "Orange the World" on the Gasthausplatz. The event is part of the global UN campaign.
The Soroptimist Club Bocholt has been committed to strengthening women's rights, equality and prevention for many years. With this rally, the members want to raise public awareness of the issue and encourage people of all ages to take a stand in favour of respectful, non-violent coexistence. A central component of the event is the contributions of the pupils from the August-Vetter-Berufskolleg and the Mariengymnasium. They prepare speeches, literary texts and musical performances that highlight various facets of respect, equality and solidarity. Through their active participation, they help to convey the message of the campaign in an impressive and emotional way. The city of Bocholt supports the campaign.
"We want to send a strong signal together against all forms of violence against women and girls", say the organisers.
In addition to the contributions, the event offers information and space for exchange and encounters. The aim of the organisers is to raise public awareness of the issue of violence prevention and to sensitise people to respect and equality in their everyday lives. All interested parties are invited to support the campaign with their presence. An orange-coloured item of clothing is a sign of solidarity with those affected and is expressly welcome.
