VHS Lecture: Photovoltaics and Heat Pumps - The Private Energy Turnaround
Tuesday, 21 March from 19:00 // Admission 6 euros (reduced rate 5 euros) // Registration requested
The VHS Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg invites you to the lecture "Photovoltaics and Heat Pumps - The Private Energy Turnaround" on Tuesday, 21 March 2023, at the Media Centre Bocholt. The speaker Michael Birkhan will cover all aspects of the topic on this evening. The event will begin at 7 pm. Registration with seat reservation now at www.vhs-bocholt.de.
Why should electricity from fossil, CO2-intensive energy sources still be used today when it is possible to generate electricity yourself through solar energy and thus save money? Anyone planning to implement the private energy transition with a photovoltaic system or a heat pump is confronted with many questions in advance. The aspects of the lecture are correspondingly multi-faceted. What yields can be expected in the different seasons? Is it worthwhile to install the system facing west or east? Should the purchase of a local energy storage device (lithium-ion battery) be considered in order to increase self-consumption of electricity? Can a PV system be coupled with a heat pump or an electric car? Are there subsidy opportunities for heat pumps/photovoltaic systems? These and other questions will be answered during this evening. In addition to the technical structure of a photovoltaic system, the current framework conditions and the economic efficiency of different system sizes will be explained.
The participation fee is 6,- € (reduced rate 5,- €). It is advisable to register in advance at www.vhs-bocholt.de, which is associated with a seat reservation. Any remaining places will be allocated at the box office on site.
